What is postnatal yoga?
Postnatal Yoga is a beautiful yoga practice for you and your baby. While it strengthens the body, your baby can lie beside you or maybe just grab a nap.Anything goes when you’re with mom for a yoga class.
Pregnancy and childbirth can physiologically be a tough ride for the body, even if you saw both phases as unproblematic. During your pregnancy, your stomach muscles are pushed to the side to make room for your baby. This brings a natural and extra pressure on your pelvic floor and your legs and feet.
For postnatal yoga, we therefore include focus on the reconstruction of the pelvic floor to strengthen your stomach and abdominal muscles so they can find each other again. Your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles – among other things – help keep your core in place and create stability, so that you have the strength to lift the baby optimally.
Using gentle and nourishing stretches, you can strengthen the body and alleviate any inconvenience you may have due to the funny or awkward nursing and sleeping positions. We relax the neck and shoulders and come back into the body and breath rhythm. Relatively simple breathing exercises can also help to make contact with your core and pelvic floor.
In a postnatal yoga class there is always room for fun, to talk and to ask questions about anything and everything. Each class ends with a good and energizing relaxation, where there is space to lie down next to your baby with the lights off and with good music in your ears.
At mamma yoga, we recommend that you start no earlier than 8 weeks after birth ♥
The most important thing is that you feel ready and want to get started with the training. You can train with us until your baby starts to crawl. We have changing rooms and space to put your baby carriage out front. These are open classes, so you can come anytime you want.
Purchasing postnatal yoga classpasses
You can participate in a postnatal yoga class 8-12 weeks after your birth. If you are unsure send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
3 class punchcard – from purchase date: valid for 4 weeks
5 class punchcard – from purchase date: valid for 8 weeks.
Terms and Conditions
When you sign up for a class, it is binding. This means that we pull a pass from your punchcard unless you cancel the yoga class 12 hours before the class starts.
You can cancel the class through your profile.
The purchase of all yoga classpasses is binding. The passcard is your personal discount card and cannot be transferred to friends and is non-refundable. The passcard is activated the day you buy the passcard.
